UMMAF is happy to announce Nikki Messer as our new Southeast Regional Director!

Nikki comes from a family of professional fighters so the ring is her second home! Soon after taking over the family gym as owner, manager, and coach traveling with fighters, she added officiating to her already impressive resume’. Ms. Messer has a 15 year history in combat sports in the Southeastern United States. She started out as a referee in amateur boxing, and shortly thereafter transitioned to judging professional and amateur mixed martial arts . Having taken and passed over 8 ABC training courses and judging almost every show in South Carolina to include televised bouts, her reputation for quality and integrity in officiating expanded into surrounding states.

Nikki has held many positions of distinction within the combat sports community. She currently serves as the Vice President of South Carolina USA Boxing Board of Directors, on the Investigation Review Committee for the South Carolina State Athletic commission, as well as serving as the CFO of the American Boxing Association. In 2014, while actively pioneering early MMA in South Carolina, she was inducted into the Carolina’s boxing Hall of Fame as Contributor of the Year.

“We are ecstatic to have Nikki on board with us!” UMMAF Vice President Ryan Brueggeman. “Her experience in the combat sports regulatory community is a tremendous asset to UMMAF/KICK International. To have someone who is familiar with the regulation of an Olympic sport will serve to help us in our quest for Olympic recognition of amateur MMA. We look forward to helping Nikki continue to help pave the way for other women in regulatory roles within the MMA community which is so important for the growth of the sport.”
