The United States Mixed Martial Arts Federation (UMMAF) is happy to announce the arrival of Dustin Goodwin to our Membership Coordination Team.

Dustin Goodwin was born in Sacramento California and raised in  Forbestown just two hours north of Sacramento. Active throughout his youth years, Dustin wrestled in junior high and boxed in college before enlisting in the United States Air Force as Security Forces. Dustin’s career in the service took him all over the world; with a culmination of many assignments and combat deployments earning him a Bronze Star, Air Force Combat Action ribbon, and Army Combat Action Badge.

In 2012, Dustin received his Bachelors degree of Science in Criminal Justice from Maryland University of Maryland College.  Mr. Goodwin retired from the United States Air Force in 2014 and started working for UMMAF as an Inspector shortly afterwards. Mr. Goodwin has worked as an official Inspector, Timekeeper, Scorecard reader, and Judge in his seven plus years dedicated to MMA and UMMAF. He has also worked for numerous MMA organizations in different capacities helping with the safety, security, and integrity of all involved. Dustin currently resides in the mountains of Northern California where he enjoys his retirement life, happily married to Catie Goodwin with 5 children.

Mr. Goodwin is still active in his life and trains Jiu-jitsu at Gracie Barra Yuba City and Boxing at Foothill Fitness to better understand the sport of MMA that he works in. Dustin believes that to be an “official” you need to understand all aspects of the game; and there’s no better way to do that, than training in the disciplines that we are regulating. Dustin is also a Wounded Warrior Project Alumni.

UMMAF President Ryan Brueggeman said regarding Dustin’s arrival, “I am ecstatic to have Dustin join our Membership Program as a coordinator.  Dustin’s commitment to the sport of MMA and his involvement with the many gyms in the Northwest makes him the obvious choice for this position.  I have no doubt that Dustin’s professionalism and his dedication will enable UMMAF to further expand it’s reach in the Northwest and bring even more club owners the tools we offer to make their business even more successful.  I look forward to working with Dustin and furthering the goals of UMMAF with him onboard.”
