On the heels of a successful 2017 IMMAF World Championships, The United States Mixed Martial Arts Federation has announced the 2018 UMMAF Amateur National Championship Tournament of MMA.  The event will take place at the Isle of Capri Casino in Boonville, MO on February 1-3, 2018.

The event, hosted by Midwest Fight League serves to determine 2018’s Team USA which will travel internationally to IMMAF events to include the 2018 World Championships to be held in Bahrain again as part of Brave Combat Fight Week. To qualify, you must have 3 verifiable wins or more on record as an amateur.  Team USA hopes to travel to countries such as Australia, South Africa and others as part of the IMMAF tournament series.  There are costs involved in being involved with Team USA so interested athletes should keep this in mind when registering.

In addition to the UMMAF National Championships, a Novice Tournament will be taking place as well.  This tournament is for those competitors that wish to experience a tournament style event but do not wish to be on the 2018 National Team.  Requirements for the UMMAF Novice Tournament require that you must not have more than 5 wins on a winning record as an amateur.  This requirement was instated to prevent well experienced amateurs from entering this division and padding their record while dominating less experienced novice athletes.

In a first for this event UMMAF has partnered with the United States Fight League to bring a youth MMA tournament to the national level.  This tournament has weight and age divisions as well as an age appropriate rule set.  Interested athletes and parents may Click Here for details on the youth tournament.

The 5th installment of the UMMAF National Tournament promises to be the toughest ever with returning National Champions and at least one World Champion and Medalists.

UMMAF Vice President and National Director Ryan Brueggeman states, “Each year UMMAF’s footprint grows as we become more well known.  Our program is proven, having helped produced 10 IMMAF World Champions in the last 4 years.  Many of these fighters have leveraged this into solid professional contracts with major promotions worldwide.”

In addition to running the UMMAF National Championships and fielding Team USA, UMMAF is an amateur MMA and kickboxing sanctioning organization operating in many states nationwide.  Interested promoters or state commissions can get more information by visiting http://www.UMMAF.org or calling 781-400-4772.
