Ahead of next weeks vote for an athlete member to the UMMAF Board of Directors, we are proud to introduce you to our second nominee;  2017 and 2018 UMMAF National Team member, Fotini Kandris! Read Fotini’s bio below!

Fotini Kandris began fighting in 2015 and is one of the few female Mixed Martial Artists in the Grand Strand Regions of SC. Originally from New York, Fotini has lived in North Myrtle Beach for 16 years, helping to run her family’s restaurant and teaching at Title Boxing.

In 2015, she tried out cardio kickboxing to get in shape and to better learn how to defend herself. However, her competitive drive led her to pursue the Martial Arts more thoroughly, starting with learning and competing in Brazilian jiu-jitsu,  grappling, kickboxing, and boxing.

In 2016, Fotini made her amateur MMA Debut. In a little over 2 years, she has qualified and competed  for Team USA at the IMMAF Amateur World Championships in Manama, Bahrain as well as holding multiple medals in various grappling tournaments and winning the Amateur Fight of the Year award for UMMAF partner Valor Fights in TN.

Fotini prides herself on her work ethic, and ability to overcome adversity, while representing her team and supporters in a positive manner.  She would like to use these traits to represent her fellow athletes as their representative.
